Kate has more than 15 years of experience in assessing environmental, health and safety risks for private equity, legal, industrial, and commercial clients. Her experience includes pre- and post- deal closure risk and liability quantification, regulatory compliance, post merger integration, and management for multiple clients over the full spectrum of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Kate has worked across a variety of sectors including, but not limited to, technology,  transportation, pharmaceutical, power, mining, manufacturing and commercial real estate. Kate has worked extensively throughout North America.

Ms. Mitsch has coordinated hundreds of multi-site EHS projects at facilities across the U.S. and globally. She applies a consistent auditing approach intended to identify nonconformances and performance trends at individual facilities and across portfolios. She works with companies to identify opportunities to improve their EHS performance and implement programs to improve EHS performance. She also works with companies during the merger / acquisition process to ensure EHS permits are transferred and/or terminated in compliance with permit obligations. 

Ms. Mitsch is also well versed in leading and conducting due diligence environmental assessments and has personally reviewed or authored over 1,000 due diligence reports. Ms. Mitsch is knowledgeable in the requirements of the ASTM E1527-13 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment standard and USEPA’s All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) requirements. She provides strategic recommendations to reduce environmental business risk over the life of an investment.

Kate has lived in 9 states (MA, CT, NC, NY, MD, VA, CA, WA, HI) and Washington D.C.. In her free time (while not packing or unpacking), Kate enjoys running, yoga, sailing, and spending time with her family (two kids, husband, and Great Dane).
