Ms. Leslie Nicholas is a Principal with BBJ Group. She leads the EHS Compliance Assurance practice helping clients understand the impact of changing regulations on their businesses. She provides BBJ Group’s clients with sustainable strategies that minimize potential risk from future statutory and policy changes, as well as emerging contaminants. Ms. Nicholas serves an assortment of clients, including corporate, commercial real estate, and private equity, as well as their investors, legal teams, and financial advisors.
Ms. Nicholas work with corporate leaders to identify EHS performance trends, and creates facility-focused management tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and document continuous improvement in EHS metrics. She facilitates management workshops around critical EHS matters, to assist management teams in defining achievable EHS goals and objectives. She then provides employee-level training on their roles and responsibilities in meeting company EHS targets and compliance obligations.
Ms. Nicholas has coordinated hundreds of multi-site EHS compliance and ISO auditing projects at facilities across the U.S. and globally. She applies a consistent auditing approach intended to identify nonconformances and performance trends. Ms. Nicholas works with management teams to develop corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans to resolve outstanding issues in a timely fashion, and identify opportunities for improvement and growth in EHS performance.
Ms. Nicholas is an expert in buy-side and sell-side due diligence for a wide variety of business and real estate deals, as well as management buyouts and industrial mergers and acquisitions transactions. She has been performing due diligence assessment work for over a quarter-century and has personally reviewed or authored over 1,000 due diligence reports. Ms. Nicholas is an expert in the requirements of the ASTM E1527-13 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment standard and USEPA’s All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) requirements. She provides advice that evaluates environmental contamination risks and includes strategic recommendations to reduce these risks over the life of an investment.
