BBJ Group efficiently assessed over 60,000 acres of Florida land in just five months, providing comprehensive environmental reports and cost estimates for informed decision-making.

Project Overview

Between May and September 2022, BBJ Group completed comprehensive environmental assessments for over 60,000 acres of agricultural and rangeland properties across Florida. The project addressed the client's need for due diligence on a diverse portfolio of 34 properties ranging from 3.66 to 10,094 acres. BBJ Group conducted Phase I Environmental Site Assessments using ASTM E 2247-16 standards, tailored for large rural properties. This involved extensive records reviews, interviews, and site reconnaissance, with the use of remote sensing technologies to efficiently assess vast areas. BBJ Group investigated various environmental concerns, including historical cattle dipping vats, shooting ranges, chemical storage areas, and oil and gas wells. Following the assessments, BBJ Group prepared detailed opinions of probable costs (OOCs) for addressing the identified environmental issues, providing the client with financial planning information. The project resulted in comprehensive reports for each property, including assessment findings and associated cost estimates, as well as a master geospatial deliverable.
