About Justin Button-Hutchens

Mr. Button-Hutchens is a Senior Engineer with over ten years of civil and environmental engineering project execution and management experience for projects across the United States and internationally. He has extensive technical expertise performing site investigations, risk-based assessments and risk management strategies, remedial system designs and installations (including construction management and operation and maintenance), conducted according to various regulatory programs (e.g., Superfund, voluntary clean-up programs). Remedial technologies include traditional excavation and disposal, in situ chemical and biological treatment methods, and sub-slab depressurization systems for vapor intrusion mitigation. He has been the project engineer or project manager for many sites of varying complexity, including investigation and remediation of over 400 residences impacted by historical lead smelting activities; operation and maintenance of existing interim remedies (e.g., pump and treat systems, soil vapor extraction systems); and small to medium-sized sites (e.g. dry cleaners, service stations, commercial property) designated for commercial, industrial, and residential development. He has also provided technical support for various litigation matters. Prior to BBJ Group, he worked on the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) for US EPA Region 5 performing site investigations, time critical removals, and emergency response activities. He also worked as a wastewater process engineer developing robust wastewater, raw water, and produced water solutions for oil & gas companies consistent with both Client needs and adhering to local regulations.
 
Mr. Button-Hutchens is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states, and currently serves as the Chicago Branch Manager.
