About Melinda Hahn

Dr. Hahn is renowned for her in-depth expertise in environmental engineering. She specializes in site investigation, remediation, contaminant fate and transport, and the statistical and forensic analysis of environmental data. Her career highlights include providing technical litigation support for over 40 soil, sediment, and groundwater contamination cases. Dr. Hahn has been instrumental in addressing issues such as toxic tort liability, remediation (including Superfund) cost allocation, and environmental compliance, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of complex environmental issues.

In her new role at BBJ Group, Dr. Hahn will leverage her vast experience to provide strategic support for various remediation projects under voluntary, CERCLA, RCRA, and landfill regulations. Her proficiency in statistical data evaluations, including Monte Carlo analyses, multivariate analyses, and multiple regression analyses, will significantly contribute to the accuracy and effectiveness of BBJ Group's environmental assessments and remediation strategies.

Dr. Hahn's notable achievements include directing and assisting in the closure of several sites within the Illinois Voluntary Cleanup Program and applying advanced techniques such as 3-D geostatistical interpolation, contaminant fate and transport modelling, and multivariate statistical analysis. Her expertise in these areas has proven vital in forensic determinations and cost allocation projects.

Dr. Hahn holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin. Her academic background and practical experience position her as a leading figure in environmental engineering.
