MINNESOTA PROJECTS

EHS AUDIT FOR APPLIANCE MANUFACTURER

BBJ Group conducted an environmental compliance audit of a 1 million square foot manufacturing facility in central Minnesota. Following the audit, BBJ developed recommendations and strategy for compliance with state and federal environmental and worker safety regulations, which eliminated violation notices at the facility while saving the client over $200,000 in operational costs to date.

A client sought to purchase a former tool production facility in Minneapolis.  Previously conducted investigations pre-dated MPCA vapor intrusion regulations, but indicated chlorinated solvent and petroleum impacts on-site.  Additional investigation was not possible given the client’s compressed negotiating timeline.  Consequently, BBJ used the data and performed MPCA-consistent Johnson & Ettinger Calculations to evaluate the potential for vapor intrusion risk at the property, which allowed an assessment in a timeframe that met the client’s timeframe.
